If we consider that God is the Divine Bridegroom and the Church is his Bride, then the prophets can be seen as “spiritual marriage counselors.” They afflict the comfortable and comfort the afflicted, calling us to return to our covenant relationship with God. They urge us to repentance, warn us of the dangers of sin, and announce the blessings of faithfulness. Their prophetic words speak to us, even today, as they draw us closer to our heavenly Bridegroom.
In The Prophets: Messengers of God’s Mercy, a 10-part Bible study from Ascension Press, you will come to know the prophets and how their messages shed light on our faith and our lives. Who are the prophets? What was their message? What do they have to do with us?
You are invited to become part of lively, inspiring and enriching conversation as we learn the answers to those questions about the prophets and more together.
Join parishioner Nancy McGraw and Women and the Word for 10 weeks as we study The Prophets: Messengers of God’s Mercy.- We will meet Saturday mornings at 9:30 a.m. in the library.
- Meeting dates are September 27; October 4, 11, 18 and 25; November 1, 8, 15 and 22; and December 6, 2025.
- The cost of the study is $27.95.
- Workbooks will be distributed at our first meeting.
